Position Description:

Ecompex is recruiting for a Software Developer to provide Knowledge Management and Program Support Services to the Department of Homeland Security. The candidate’s role will be crucial in accomplishing various missions to provide the necessary security for information sharing and to enable DHS to provide federal, state, and local officials with the technology and capabilities to protect the homeland. Some responsibilities of this role can include programming and developing, addressing software bugs, modification of software, testing software among other technical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a Tier 1 background investigation to be placed in a position of Public Trust.
  • Must possess a B.A. or B.S. degree and have 5 or more years of relevant experience as a programmer/developer.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word, Excel.
  • Strong communication, written, and verbal skills.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Ability to review and modify source code.

Required Skills:

  • Experience addressing software bugs.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural migration.
  • Experience with programming and developing.
  • Proficient in resolving problems with software and adding new features.
  • Experience testing software to ensure proper functionality.
  • Experience migrating software’s into new systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in integrating new versions and related support libraries with existing code base, making necessary updates to accommodate changes.
  • Apply updates and install packages as required, ensuring proper software compilation and functionality in resulting software builds.
  • Develop support libraries and modify combat system source code to support repeatable development and integration by a larger software team.
  • Develop and modify predominantly software and address software bugs and new capability development.
  • Support architectural migration efforts to software containers.
  • Develop and debug software interfaces and related functionality with external systems, leveraging adequate interface documentation.
