Position Description:

Ecompex is recruiting for a Technical Analyst / Writer to provide Knowledge Management and Program Support Services to the Department of Homeland Security. The candidate’s role will be crucial in accomplishing various missions to provide the necessary security for information sharing and to enable DHS to provide federal, state, and local officials with the technology and capabilities to protect the homeland. Some responsibilities of this role can include the development of training materials, technical writing, R&D among other tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a Tier 1 background investigation to be placed in a position of Public Trust.
  • Must possess a B.A. or B.S. degree and have 5 or more years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word, Excel.
  • Strong communication, written, and verbal skills.
  • Experience developing training materials.
  • Strong technical skills.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of technical terminology.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.
  • Ability to conduct research and development.
  • Ability to translate technical writing into visual aids.
  • Experience writing user manuals, training materials, installation guides, white papers, and reports.
  • Experience with content creation.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and compose complex technical information.
  • Conduct research to ensure accuracy of technical terminology.
  • Translate technical information into clear, understandable documents for both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Organize material and write descriptive copy according to established standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Select visual aids such as photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate technical material.
  • Develop communication materials for publications, internet platforms, strategic initiatives, user manuals, training materials, installation guides, white papers, and reports.
  • Write, edit, and revise functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, and other customer deliverables.
  • Provide technical writing support by interpreting directions from scripted storyboards, specifications, and other documents.
  • Review documents for technical accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support content creation and management on networks and web platforms.
